Taken in 1964, at Mel's Flying A. Corner of 1st and B. An Oldsmobile J2 with two 4 barrels. Scary? Not for a 17 y/o. Mel Basenger was a great guy to work for. Total freedom to learn, be your own boss. At 16, I practically managed the station on weekends and after school. Kids today, just do not have the chance to meet the challenges of real life.
